Richland Creek, TN

Good times on another Tennessee favorite...Yes I said Tennessee. This isn't your Arkansas Richland...
No shuttle needed... The run itself is only a few miles but with a trail going all the way to the top along river left, makes for a great park, hike, and huck oppurtunity.  Richland Creek is Located just a few miles outside of  Dayton, Tennessee and has quickly become one of my favorite local runs. Only about an hour from the house and with a big enough watershed to run for a few days after a decent rain event, makes this a great back-up plan also. Tons of beautiful scenery, quality whitewater, and great friends! GOD! I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!! Here are a few pictures that Mr. Rucker Snagged while we were out.... Enjoy!!!

A Winter Wonderland!

Just rolled in hot off a local favorite. Rock Creek.. Good times. The sun was shining and everyone had good lines for the most part... Temps in the mid 40's, but there was plenty of leftover ice at the bottom of the falls.. Made for some great pictures.. Big thanks to Ole Joser for snapping some good ones!
Check em out!

Winter is here!!

whhoooo Weeeeeeeeee!  Finally the one I've been waiting on! Bear Creek at Cloud land Canyon. With flows just right, a new Boat, and the weather still somewhat mild, a few weeks before Christmas it was time... Now or never... put-up or Shut up... With a little bit of a nudge, I was in the car with Charlie headed to Bear Creek. We met up with Dave Ledford and Daniel Rucker at the Take-out, along with John Grace coming along to do some Filming for a Documentary about the big waterfalls and whitewater of Lookout Mountain. We had good flows around 16'' when we put on. Perfect first time level...Everything went well except for me bunching up my line at Scissor hands with a little too much speed coming into the right side, Dave got flipped in the run out and took a couple of pretty nasty hits to the head, Started feeling dizzy and decided to hike the remaining half mile to the Takeout. Probably a good decision. Besides all that everything went well. Fired up Stairway to Heaven right after watching Charlie go Left of Center over the Horizon line... I decided i wanted to stay in my boat and roll with it. Ive seen enough pictures of the drop before hand to know what i was in for. Kept it straight left of center and down i went. Smooth sailing! Portaged Cosmic Trigger below stairway due to wood. And started back with Big-Bang. Quality rapids, close to home, and a very short shuttle... What more could i ask for..??? I will definitely be back soon...

Check out the new Land of Giants Trailer #2 for a little sneak at whats to come...
